Proving Goldbach's conjecture.
What approach should be taken in proving Goldbach's conjecture? Just as Andrew Wiles proved Fermat's Last Theorem via a connection between Modular Forms/Elliptic Curves and Number Theory (via the Taniyama–Shimura conjecture), which branch of mathematics do you expect could be used to prove said conjecture? I hear that a connection between modern theoretical physics, and number theory, has been made by a Russian mathematician as a proof - but due to a lack of rigour, it has been shunned.
Alternatively, do you think that such a proof could be achieved via pure number theory? A true, rigorous, proof - one for 'The Book' (Erdos)?

aha, this channel seems to be a joke to almost everyone, its a shame that all of us dont have anything in common when it comes to "serious issues"
